re: SX-820

Just bough the SX-820. The "A" speaker button light is burned out and the volume control is "scratchy".
Any suggestions on clean the dirty pot? and are there any replacement lights for the burned out one?
Can't tell from the owner's manual if the radio signal light on the station indicator is supposed to light up when locked onto a station?

re: SX-820

When you're on a station with a strong stereo signal, your red Stereo light will light up and the green Locked light above it will light up.
The value of the lights used is in the service manual. The lights for the speaker buttons are a different value then the lights used for the other buttons.
Use a good contact cleaner such as DeOxit or Super Contact Cleaner from MG Chemicals(costs less than DeOxit). Make sure, after you spray inside the control, to work the control back and forth at least 75 times to work the cleaner in.
