Built with high grade parts. Sounds more like a 3000.00 preamplifier. Dual mono power supplies. subwoofer outputs with 2 crossover points 75 and 150. Pre-out, sub-out, high-pass outputs which are great for subs or to biamp a speakers inputs if they have it. MM and MC phono with capacitance switch. All gold platted connections. Tone control defeat switch. Great sounding Phono section. Very warm sounding yet articulate, transparent, and detailed. Nice tonal balance. Neutral mid range. Wide sound stage attributed to it's dual mono design. Quality volume pot. Proton designed most if not all the NAD components and took Proton components to an even higher level. You can use this preamp in any priced audio applications and it will sound great.

re: AP-1000

Hello Brian,

The volume pot you need for the Proton AP-1000 is a ALPS RK27112 Blue Velvet, Blue Beauty series with type/value discription 10KBx2.
It's a 10 K Ohms(10K) Lineair(B) stereo(x2) potentiometer.
