Description/schematic discrepancy

The text on page 6 refers to valve V7 which drives the tuning indicator lamps as being a 12AX7, whereas both the component list and the schematic indicate that V7 is a 12AT7. Whilst these valves have quite different characteristics, the tuner appears to function properly with either.

I am unable to remember which valve was fitted to my tuner, which I had from new, but I recall calling Quad a while later, but many years ago (Acoustical Manufacturing then), to point out the discrepancy and was told that the valve should be a 12AT7 (ECC81). Curiously, the person I spoke to was unaware that the descriptive text was incorrect.

I wonder why the person who wrote the description referred to the 12AX7?

Would you believe that the description is actually correct whilst the circuit diagram / the parts list is wrong!!!!!?????
I opened up my unit and found that a Brimar 12AX7 was fitted in the position.

re: QUad FM
