re: STA-225

An excellent receiver, with that warm, rich sound.

re: STA-225

Listened to this for a week now on my headphones and I’m impressed ! Clarity and power is pretty impressive for a Realistic. Still this was their top-of-line unit back in ‘73. Comparable to the STA-220. Built in Japan by Fostex. Build quality high. Just plugged in some ok pioneer CS-70’s and they match quite nicely.

re: STA-225

Good-looking unit. Love the midrange tone control - sort of like my Yamaha CR-1000 with its variable loudness - but with the added ability to even jack up the midrange above the 0db range.
