This is a really nice, solid receiver. I am amazed at the power coming out of this box. Inside, the controls are easily accessed to be cleaned/replaced. LED upgrade can be quickly performed without massive disassembly - everything is on top. The FM Tuner grabs channels with ease. Bass and Treble response are great! I would have liked a Midrange tone control. The Walnut veneer is really attractive - especially when rubbed out with Danish Oil.



re: STA-64

The STA-64 was a big seller for the Shack. The '64 really didn't replace a particular receiver; it was inserted between the STA-52 and STA-77A as the line expanded approaching the peak audio years. Solidly built by Tandy Electronics in Korea.
