re: A75 Series 2

Powerful little integrated amp that is very well made and sounds wonderful.

re: A75 Series 2

Upon switch On, I was getting some strange rustling noise through the speakers for 10 seconds or so.
I traced this to the Speaker selector control, due to the contacts aging over time. It’s a odd type of rotary switch, so no direct replacement seems available.
As I only use one set of speakers I just hard wired the selector control so the “A” speakers are now always on. Result! Great amp, wonderful quality.

re: A75 Series 2

Sadly the fault returned. It's the Volume control, spray lot's of cleaner in there, hard to get a replacement with the switch on the back.

re: A75 Series 2

Worth giving Deoxit switch cleaner a go. If the swotch is just oxidised but still function mechanically then a fix is likely.
I use Deoxit products on all service work i do and it works extremely well.....if you follow the instructions to the letter.

Good luck,

I have the same problem with my A75 Series 2 so thanks for the lead. Amazing that it is still going after nearly 40 years (I've had it since new).

re: A75 Series 2

Had this amp since new and its still sounds fantastic with Spendor BC1s and Logic tempo table. Had to have new output capacitors fitted for £50 by local repair guy but well worth it. Smooth powerful valvey sound.

re: A75 Series 2

This amp doesn't use output caps, it's Transformer coupled, unusual for a SS amp. I guess you meant Power caps.
