Rotel RA-931

Description

The Rotel RA-931 is a stereo integrated amplifier which has been designed for high performance. It has Symmetrical Circuit Paths. These are utilized to ensure absolutely identical timing integrity between the two channels of the amplifier.

The power supply derives from a ROTEL designed and manufactured toroidal power transformer. We also utilize ROTEL custom designed capacitors to improve the speed and damping factor of the amplifier.

We believe in highly regulated power supplies and build these into all of our products. We feel the extra expense of building in an excellent power supply is worthwhile because it is good for the music.

The Bass and Treble tone controls adjust the low bass or the high treble range of the music. We do not allow them to alter the all important middle ranges (vocal range) of the music. They are deflatable with a front panel switch, if you desire to bypass them.

I've got the MKI version. I've always been fond of these low-powered no frills design made by Rotel. They've got a less-is-more kind of charm. Given a pair of sensitive speakers (I'm using Snell K's) and a small/medium-sized room this little jewel won't run out of steam. It does pack a punch but it's not without finesse either. Timbre's realistic, even though it does not sound warm or tube-like at all, so avoid bright-sounding speakers and the RA 931 will reward you with a detailed and engaging presentation. It's reliable too. A stonking bargain. They do go for very little money. Actually, I bought it for my teenage kid, and it has ended up in the living room! Yes, it's that good.

lovely subtle accuracy. Much overlooked by hifi geeks on a budget.
