True love and audio revelation! Listening through this amplifier is like hearing beautiful music for the very first time, AND falling in love! As the other reviews say it, the chief feature of this amplifier is its transparency and almost 3D live sonic image on virtually any speaker. Its rated 40watts sound like 90-100watts to me. Listened to Andrea Bocelli and violas and violins today and was transported to a concert hall in Europe. One tip for maximizing the sound - avoid the most expensive cables for the power and the RCA interconnects. Go for something at entry level or just above it. Am using it with DA VINCI Emmespeakers and it is as good as paying for a concert! JBL, Focus Audio and Tannoy speakers highly recommended too!

re: AU-111

This "Legendary" amplifier from the 1960's has a beautiful balanced sonic character through the audio spectrum to die for. It doesn't output a harsh over the top @ high frequencies like a lot of solid state amps seem to do. There is something very special about this amplifier how it voices and presents it's soundstage giving a 3 diamental effect with solid strong bottom end, detailed midrange & smoove silky top end. I have owned countless number of vintage amplifiers but this will never leave me.
