Sansui AU-919

Sansui Integrated Straight DC Stereo Amplifier with Exclusive DD/DC Power/Phono Amps and MC Amp.

Sansui engineers have perfected the Straight DC circuitry of the AU-919 Integrated Stereo Amplifier right down to the very last superlative.

Fastest rise time, highest slew rate, lowest TIM or Transient Intermodulation Distortion are not the least on the list.

Then there are the words which describe its phono equalizer and flat amp - cleanest, quietest and definitely latest.

Add the fact that the Diamond Differential DC circuit in the power amp and phono equalizer offers one of the widest frequency ranges ever achieved in audio - extending from zero Hz (DC) to an amazing supersonic high of 500,000Hz - and you have some of the reasons the AU-919 delivers the purest musical performance you've ever heard.

The AU-919 isn't the cheapest integrated amp on the market, and at a modest 100 watts per channel, it isn't the most powerful.

But we're convinced that for the serious audiophile who really cares about sound quality, and who is willing to make an investment in truly state-of-the-art equipment designed for nothing less than straight, uncolored, dynamic audio performance, the AU-919 deserves the most superlative of all - The Finest.

Caution: be aware that there is an error in this schematics: on the F-2840 Protector Board, the schematic shows a capacitor C603, value 470µF, voltage 10V.

The correct value is 470µF 50V : take care....

There should exist a revised version of this schematics, because a friend of mine has a schematics which exibits the correct value: 470µF 50V.

It's the ideal amp for my Yamaha NS-690 II. Powerful but delicate when needed, enough dynamic to get up from the sofa! Total checks even if they can be excluded. Reference construction, hi-end components. Perhaps the perfect amp ...?

Can any one tell me where to take my 919 amp to get recapped? I've owned mine since 1980 and it has been nothing but awesome. I have JBL L112 speakers hooked up to it and the sound quality is the best i've heard!

I purchased the 919 used about 10 years ago. This amp is truly a marvel of the 70s. Nearly 40 years old and still sounds fantastic. The phono stage is rich and cristal clear. If you have a good cartridge and some quality speakers this amp will blow your mind, as we us to say in the 70s. My friends can't believe that records could sound so good. My vintage audio system has made believers that vinyl is still very much alive.

re: AU-919

A great amp, One of the best from 1970 decade. Nothing to compare with modern amplifiers, only few amp over 20.000 $ can overtake this "old" Sansui

re: AU-919

Anyone out there have the original owners manual that included hooking up the external components such as tape deck, tuner, equalizer, and other components. I took my amp out to clean it up and vacuum out and cannot remember which wires went where. I took a picture but it did not work. All information appreciated............Grump

BTW, it is an awesome amp. Bought it in Okinawa in '80 and it still works.

re: AU-919

Perfect (for 8 Ohms speakers).

The great old school sound

I wonder how the fast AU-919 would sound as compared to the older AU-9500 or AU-999.
Could any Sansui fans share their listening experience in this regard.
