re: Channel problems

Had this issue myself a few years ago but with the right channel. Fiddling with the Selector or Tape Monitor knob would bring it back, but it would slip out again and again. I think the switches just got dirty over the years, oxidation.

Didn't want to risk damage by DIY so I took it to a high end audio house in my area. It was worth the trip. The guy was like a kid in a candy shop. He knew the equipment, former NAVY, and I think had as much fun working on it as I did getting it back. Fixed and cleaned some issues I wasn't aware of yet. Like new.

Mine is a G-901 purchased at the NATO exchange in Naples 1978.

Sansui G-901 vs Sansui G-9000

Can someone explain the differences between these two models? G-901 and G-9000

re: Sansui G-901 vs Sansui G-9000

I think that the only difference is model numbers, Sansui G-901 is the European model, For the soldgers in Germany and the many other surrounding countries in Europe, Sansui G-9000 is the U.S. model, and the Sansui G-9000DB was the model number for the Service members in Pacific (i.e. Japan, Korea), which I am the proud original owner of, Which I bought 1979 in Seoul, Korea at the PX-(post exchange store).

I hope that this helps anyone who has the same question.

Cheers,
Greg T.

re: Sansui G-901 vs Sansui G-9000

Hello, My husband has a G-901 and several vintage speakers. He is having a hard time hooking it up. Can you help? I copied the service manual but its not as useful as a user manual would be. Any help would be appreciated. Have a great night. Erin
