These speakers are great. My father got them from a friend at work 5 years ago and I still haven't had a problem. I also noticed that if you flip the terminals in which you plug the speakers into the receiver you can either (if you do it correctly i.e. L into L R into R) you can have a flat sound signature. However flipping these (R into L L into R) it results in a more bass-heavy sound with an increase in notice-ability in the Highs and softer mids.

re: SP-30

I was given these speakers by my father ten years ago when he sold his house.
I had always liked them as a kid, as we always had great music on, and I liked the puffs of air coming out of the bass reflex port at the top.
Beautiful wood cabinets, especially the fine details on the grille. I have replaced the woofer, added a nice 2 way crossover from Dayton Audio, and left the horn tweeter in place.
WOW These beauties have a really nice sparkle without sounding harsh.
By chance on a business trip to Asheville a few years ago, I wandered into a thrift shop after dinner. As soon as I walked in I saw a set across the room and made a beeline....

$10.00 for the pair, thank you very much.
I have hidden them away for a down the road project, clean them up and maybe, if the woofers arent shot, do nothing but listen.
They don’t make them like they used to.
