Amazing preamp. Download the brochure for Sanyo's mindset at the time. Had to compete with other high quality Japanese equipment in the late 1970's so they started a 'skunk works' to design high end gear. The Plus Series stood out. The C55 preamp is a great minimalist preamp, completely flat bypass mode, a wire with gain, if you want it. (I don't have the Amp that went with it) All FET design, think tube amp, not hybrid IC's and bipolar transistors. Hard to find but snap one up if you see one. Gold coated I/O RCAs and high-end switches and pots, no static after 35+ years. Super solid construction, came with heavy duty rack mount ears. Sounds beautiful.

re: Plus C55

Just got one for 90€, what can i say... It plays fantastic!!
One of the best kept secret in audio history!
Power amp is a little Miniwatt N3 with NOS tubes and it is just that the 3,5W became 20W
So all in all very pleased with this purchase.
