re: AM-7040

I just recapped mine. Wow, what a great amp this is. It's beautifully warm with transient response that is very natural. I had been using an Odyssey amplifier at 150 watts per side which sounded very good on my recapped DQ-10s. The Sherwood is a little more natural sounding to my ears, and the extra oomph of 200 watts made instruments like double bass just pop out of the sound stage. It made instruments more 3 dimensional. This is spectacular amp. I got mine for $180. They are rare but under the radar. Grab one if you find one.
