re: CDP-C705

I must be using this site incorrectly. I am hoping to find a manual to help me safely remove the case of this 5-CD player. It is skipping irregularly but mostly on the outermost track of various CDs, all of which are in excellent condition. I would clean and lubricate sliders and gears with a thin oil and clean the head with alcohol. I am now in a clean environment but for a couple of years the player was in a relatively dusty one, which is when the skipping developed. I understand suspension springs can sag and the mechanism thereupon touches the case. Also I find the left channel dead when the output leads are in the variable volume sockets but are OK when in the constant volume output sockets; this merely means I have to control the volume with the amplifier but it seems odd. It's difficult to believe a wire would detach from the back of the dead RCA socket. Anybody recommend first blasting out with air before trying to remove the case? Thank you! MJD
