Sheer musicality and bass weight make this better than the Audiolab I had. Very heavy too. Bargain if you find one now

re: CDP-X33ES

Very very good machine with heavy weight. Bought it two years ago as a "second hand" CD player. Sound is amazing, this player is a real monster eating ALL kinds of discs even scratched old CD -Rs in a moment without any "thinking". But due to it's age i've replaced all caps on board (about 5 - 6 caps leaked) and if you have distorted sound about 1 - 5 minutes (in my case) in one channel (no matter left or right) you should replace relay NEC MR62 - 24S with new one (RED-coloured on main board) - the only one relay in this cd player, upper right part of the board between two caps - contacts inside became out of order or needs cleaning, so the sound s distorted at about 1 to 5 minutes and manual search buttons don't want to work properly. Good luck people. Cheers from Russia.

re: CDP-X33ES

IF you have DuorexII Brand caps in this unit, replace all of them ASAP. They leak and eat the foil patterns.
