A nice little receiver, rated by Sony at 60 watts into 8 ohms from 40-20 kHz. This rating is a little strange to me; I'd be more convinced if it were from 20-20kHz, but whatever. Bottom line is, for a WalMart-grade receiver, it does everything it's supposed to well and nothing terribly. To be sure, it's not classic hi-fi, but if you need an inexpensive and unobtrusive set for your den or computer, this would more than fill the bill. It features a phono input stage too...may be one of the last Sony AV sets to do so. You could do worse.
