Just picked up a pristine 2650, and I too am really surprised the volume it kicks out. I'd been looking for a Sony integrated from this era for a while, and for a small size and price this thing so far does not disappoint.

Beautiful amplifier, the sound quality is really good.
A warm and dynamic sound. Has a lot of power and will sound awesome with a good pair of vintage speakers.
It is worth to get one!

re: TA-2650

I just picked one of these up and it's a fine amp and works well. I have no found a user's manual in english, so I wanted to know what the flip switch is for to bring it down -20DB. Is it just what it is? When not using it, it seems to scream with it just by having the volume dial on 1.

re: TA-2650

It's just a mute switch, no more, no less, for when the phone rings and stuff. :-)
