Nice hidden gem. Not ES built quality (chassis is flimsy and front panel is ABS plastic vs the beam/frame with aluminum of the ES).

The schematic clearly shows that it is of ES topology and that is why is sounds pretty damn good.

Coupled with the STR-DA777ES as the pre-amp, this little gem pounds harder than the built-in front channel amps of the 777ES. Much more dynamic and lots more headroom. Crisper, stronger mids, and rich bass.

Haven't tried with its original pre-amp (maybe junk) to see how much difference the 777ES is making.
