I ask if the model TA-N80ES MKIII has 2 toroidal trasformers.

Yes, the MKI has an uncapsulated EI core, the MKII an encapsulated EI core and the MKIII has two encapsulated toroidal transformers.

The MKIII transformers are not the same as those used in the TA-N55ES as the secondary windings are different.

Sorry to restart this tread, i've notice a bit late, that it was open in 2010...

Sony in protection mode...

Have you try to unplug your speaker, it as to do with the output being overcharge in a sens, nobody of course that you know of, have drop something in it, is he dry. UNPLUG THE AMP, WAIT HALF A DAY, then only then, lift the top cover and have a look, it could be this simple, you'd be surprise... Thing happen, when we're not there, somebody knowing that you care very mutch about your belonging, did not have the courrage to tell you what append. Did it place itself in that stat will you we're using it, yourself, i mean, we're you withness of the change...

Your amp, is it the TA-N80ES, or the Pre-amp, TA-E80ES. Witch one are you taking about?

My Sony Power Amplifier is in Protection mode constantly. Is the only solution to leave it to a service place or is there something I can try to do? Kind Regards Christian
