Fixed capstan pinch rollers, locked in old grease at pivot points
, needed to heat pivot points with clean solder iron and slowly worked off and cleaned. Change all belts , cleaned lubed. checked all linkage for bent parts, found FF & FR linkage bent fixed,. Works great . Fred

just got a weary 440 but the pinch wheel wont quite touch the roller, should the roller move?

got the play, rev, FF.FR working by cleaning the old hard black grease and regrease with white linthium grease. Can't get the capstan rollers to move up in play position? Any help out there? Tnaks Fred

TC-440 power to the unit lights up vu meters. Do not hear any motor running, function buttons locked (rev, ff, play) . BTW with tape in or out. Thanks Fred

I just bought one of these for recording, but for some reason the tapes will not spin. If i take the tapes off they seem fine, but with the weight of the tapes they do not spin. Any ideas?

did you reolve the issue? Im working on on right now and the right reel is not turning
