Sony's bottom of the line dual cassette deck from 1996, I think, but still a pretty respectable deck. I am sure it does very little above 15 kHz but that makes it about equal with FM radio, so... One notable attribute of this deck is, because it is the entry level set in the series, it has none of the go-fasters that tend to quit working or become problematic as it ages, such as auto reverse, auto bias adjust, auto tape type select, and so on. It also is very easy to service: I put new belts in both wells of my unit in under 90 minutes and I probably could have done it even faster if I did it more often. Moral of the story: sometimes simple is better.

I have a restored and cleaned TC-WE305 model from 1996. Replaced new belts. Nice sound on normal, chrome and metal tapes. And also very quiet when in use. It's my fourth tape deck for collecting. Very soon I make video's on YouTube about this deck.
