re: TC-WR665S

I have one of these, and I have lots of tapes. Next to never listen to them, but decided since some of the music I have on tape I do not have on Vinyl or CD, I popped a tape in and within 2 seconds it ate the tape.
Tried another in the B deck and same thing.

Is there anywhere in in the Los Angeles or Ventura area that can fix this?

Thanks!

re: TC-WR665S

I picked up this deck recently. It has the dirtiest heads I have ever seen. Thick brown crust. I played some Lionel Richie "Can't Slow Down" - and it sounded awful. Muffled, no high frequencies, very quiet. Truly awful. After scrubbing the heads for over five minutes, and using up three qtips and 91% alcohol I finally got the dirt off. Playing the cassette again, it sounded better. The highs were restored somewhat, but not as good as the Pioneer CT-W616DR. I demagnetized the heads - and made a further improvement (surprised!). Taking the front cover off the record deck, I played the cassette again, I adjusted the azimuth and finally got it to a play very crisp highs. Now it sounds amazing, nearly as good as the W616DR. Very pleased now. (Next - I need to replace the belts!)

re: TC-WR665S

This is GREAT- thanks so much- this deck is the "Old Reliable" & has lasted for years until this week an issue occured. The 'play/record' relay/solenoids have stopped 'unlocking'- now I know where to begin troubleshooting! Thanks again!
