re: CD-P650

I have recently purchased a TEAC CD-P650. Although CD sound quality is excellent, there is a weird issue that is annoying. When there is a dramatic decrease in volume within a song, or at the end of a song as music fades, there is a noticeable increase in the Pitch of the sound - something like a quarter-step or half-step higher pitch than just before the volume decreased. Does anyone know what might be the issue?
