Have one in original working condition. It didn´t have an easy life back then (heavily used as an 80ies party system tapedeck) but still works like a clockwork even after decades of storage. Still original belts and all. Just the cinch-plug contacts have turned green and the rec-switch contacts needed a lube. Incredibly reliable and sturdy drive, never got stuck, never chewed a tape.

re: RS-M215

re: RS-M215

Dear, I advice you change all electroliquid capacitors. Better change all, in any case it improve system and can on 80% help in solving recording problem. Even better to change capasitors with not high value something like 0.47÷4.7 on ceramic (Murrati for example). I have such divice and I do it. In my case I feel improving I think in 1.5 times. Sound is more clear.
