I bought one back in 1992 with my first salary. I have the one with a fan in the back (stereo synthesizer version).
It was used a lot (but not abused) and it's still running with no problems at all. It is a bit underpowered so be careful when ramping up the volume, you could end up burning the tweeters like i did (it will start clipping).
All in all nice little receiver with good sound and it's practically bulletproof. The remote still works. Definitelly worth every penny or cent.

Simple receiver, use it for listening to radio, vinyl and CD's and I am pleased with both sound and ease of use. An ideal second system in a workshop or a bedroom.

There are two version of this receiver, both built in the 1992-1994 time frame and both bearing the SA-GX130 model designation. The front panel text on one reads Stereo Synthesizer Receiver while the other reads AV Control Stereo Receiver. My comments are based on the AV Control Stereo Receiver version, which is rated at 70 watts per channel into an 8-ohm load, from 40-20kHz, with 0.5% THD. In short, this is a great little receiver whose sound quality and reliability are far better than its price and specs would lead you to believe. You can pick up mint examples of these on eBay for $30-$50. Grab one. They're bulletproof, sound great, and look great. I have many other components with higher pedigrees and higher price tags that don't sound as good or are as trouble-free as these 130's. The FM section is particularly strong. They're a great way to set-up a low-cost vintage system.
