re: SL-PG300

Picked up a refurbished unit a week ago from a local vintage dealer. I wanted a CD deck for my workshop system. Couldn’t resist the $40 bargain price. Later read about how good the early Technics MASH decks were. Did an A/B comparison on my bedroom system, an Arcam 8r, driving Triangle Titus EX speakers. Definitely a noticeable sonic difference compared to the Onkyo CD changer I got this summmer at the Big Box store. This ones staying hooked to the bedroom system, the Onkyo’s going to my workshop.

Those "Mash" CD units are outstanding, I've got a few myself.
But then again, I've always like the Panasonic/Technics stuff for their quality.

One of my power amps is an old Technics SE-A909s.
Not that powerful, but given its age, it stands up well to other comparable newer models of the same class and very well too. Good clean sound and the harmonics are clear and crisp across the ranges.
