This device is from the late 80s, but can still outperform some of today's CD players.
Backlight screen and extreme fast forwarding and rewind speeds praise this model.
Additionally, it allows pre-selecting a track prior to playback.
Of course, no multimedia formats. Only RedBook CDDA. And I also noticed a hammer sound on playback. And it plays no CD-RWs and CD-Rs with too high burning speeds suffer from background noise.
But the firmware offers displaying all 4 time modes, programming ahead (also DURiNG playback) and the firmware has no error timeout, which I really like. Some Philips CD players give up after a few tries of reading failures.
One can even pre-select the track while the tray is opened.
It works well together with other units from Technics. The UKW radio tuning unit has a Remote Sensor.
I also like the bar with 15 tracks at the bottom. It's functionality is probably described in the user manual. I have also seen one with 16 tracks one day.

It's performance at reading damaged discs is above average and it can continue playing back at a very highly maintained audio quality. Just a few, barely hearable noise sounds, if any.
It's audio a quality is generally cinematic.
