Bought second hand from original owner. Needed dry solder joints fixed: done.Owned for 4 years.
This is my go-to amp. Reliable, clean, punchy.
Drives a variety of speakers well.Enough power to do the job.
pretty ok phono pre-amp stage.
Like the sound a lot, especially with rock.
Not too dry & clinical. But not soft and warm & fuzzy.
Get one at the right price and it will serve you well.

I bought my Tecnhics SU-V2X in 1984, with some money I got in the Army, but now it's not working anymore. A friend told me I needed 2 pieces of material:
1 - STK2038II
2 - MN1404STE.
Is it still possible to find these?

Purchased my first Technics SUV2 in 78...ran until the late 90's, procured a pair of pioneer s910's and it blew the roof off...40 odd watts per channel, both are fond memories and never forgotten!
Cheers and enjoy

Just had this model few days ago. I am a fan an avid collector of Technics audio components.
This amp really caught me by surprised! Within seconds, I could hear great and detailed transparency, very smooth top, a forward midband and a good extended lower bass and all of these from a 45 watter per channel amp! Currently may day to day player. A sure keeper.

Love the sound of this amp which I have had since 1985!

re: SU-V2X

Me too! Just resurrected it from the garage and it's fully operational with Kef C30 speakers both from around 1985-1988! Sound beautiful, saving up or a proper turntable.
