re: PT-862

Hi , I've managed to makeup a cable that. fits in the power port. The machine lights up but the motor doesn't move at all.

When I put the knob into the play position the tape heads don't stay up they move straight back down.

any ideas what could be causing this ?

many thanks.

re: PT-862

Hi , I've been given one of these but theres no power cable with it.

Does anyone know what cable it uses and what its called ?

many thanks

re: PT-862

Hi,

This might be the cord you are looking for. Check the dimensions shown in the auction and see if they match up with your tape deck.

re: PT-862

Hi Bob ,

Thanks ! I've been looking for something like this for ages ,was literally about to change the socket for a figure of 8 one!

Unfortunately its not the right size. Mine has two dips on either side of it.

thanks for looking though , its pointed me in the right direction !

Cheers

re: PT-862

Not auto reverse. Has play symbol right and left
But probably for left hand people.

re: PT-862

Hi,

I took a look at the Service Manual and it is not an auto-reverse deck.
