This is the best ever.
Nothing like it before or after...
Example: the Yamaha engineering wanted the best phono section in the world but the RIAA curve requires a lot of Eq and in order to be the highest SNR the voltages must be higher so as to push the noise relative to the output, lower.
Most if not all pre-amps will run the internal rails at +/- 15v for almost 30v Peak to peak.
Not the C-1, the rails are +/- 115v for 230v Peak to Peak. This vastly improves the phono's SNR.
All throughout the preamp one can see the no compromise design regardless of cost. Another example, I think it was either a 14 gang or 16 gang 40 stepped precision multi stage ganged resistor volume controls for the input stage, tone control stage, and final amp stages, to lower overall net gain related stage gain noise, and improve SNR. Philosophy: If we make it people will pay what ever it takes to own one. Best preamp I've ever owned. I miss mine, would love to purchase another one.
