This a very good budget receiver the amplifier sounds quite good. One nice option is the pure direct switch which by passes the tone controls. Another nice feature is a variable loudness control normally found on more expensive gear. It is a well constructed unit aluminum face plate vs plastic no BPC here. The one weakness is the tuner, not the best for fringe stations. Compared to a Yamaha component tuner I have it is left behind as far as sensitivity goes. But for a budget unit there will be compromises made. Over all a very good well made piece of gear.
